Why is the passive more used in English than in Spanish?

Because there are verb tenses in Spanish thet don't exist in English.

For examples: Me dijeron que fuera al cine I was told to go to the cinema.

Se dice que hay mucha gente It's said that there are many people.

Why is the passive important to the tourism?
