REVISION OF LAWS

Congress by the enactment of the Foreign Service Act of 1946, act

Aug. 13, 1946, ch. 957, 60 Stat. 999, classified principally to

chapter 14 (Sec. 801 et seq.) of this title, consolidated and

revised the laws relating to the administration of the Foreign

Service. The Foreign Service Act of 1980, Pub. L. 96-465, Oct. 17,

1980, 94 Stat. 2071, classified principally to chapter 52 (Sec.

3901 et seq.) of this title, repealed the Foreign Service Act of

1946 and further consolidated and revised the laws relating to the

Foreign Service.
