PRÁCTICA NÚMERO 12
DETERMINACIÓN DE LA DENSIDAD DE UN LÍQUIDO CON EL PICNÓMETRO
· OBJETIVO:
Calcular la densidad de un líquido problema empleando un picnómetro y otro líquido de densidad conocida.
· DESARROLLO:
· Realizar las siguientes pesadas:
1.- PRIMERA PESADA:
TARA = Picnómetro vacío + M 1
2.- SEGUNDA PESADA:
TARA= M PIC +M AGUA +M 2
3.- TERCERA PESADA:
TARA= M PIC +M PROBLEMA +M 3
· Una vez realizadas, los resultados obtenidos son los siguientes:
M 1 =115.260 M 2 =93.150 M 3 =97.460
· Aplicando las siguientes fórmulas, obtendremos la densidad del líquido problema:
M Agua =M 1 +M 2
M PROBLEMA = M 1 -M 3
ρ PROBLEMA =(M / M Agua ) ρ Agua
· Los resultados son los siguientes (teniendo en cuenta que la temperatura del agua es 20.4ºc):
M agua = 22.110 g M PROBLEMA =17.800 g ρ PROBLEMA =0.80355 g/cm 3
· El error asociado al resultado obtenido es el siguiente:
ρ PROBLEMA =0.80355 ð 0.00072 g/cm 3
· CUESTIONES:
¿Por qué no se debe tocar el picnómetro con las manos más de necesariamente imprescindible durante el desarrollo de la práctica?
Porque el calor corporal hace dilatar el líquido que se halla en el interior, el cual al sufrir el citado aumento de volumen asciende por el capilar haciendo que la medida hecha sea inexacta.
